Process

I've been getting questions about how I paint. I use multiple sources for reference (color, textures, etc.), but I do not do paint-overs or copy photos.

Below is a step by step render of a painting- Clicking the image should make it bigger.

Week Reflection 01

First weekly Life Drawing Reflection:
We did some gesture drawing this week, was a good start to using charcoal, it has been a while since using the medium... Takes some time to switch into charcoal mode. I'm not the biggest fan of standing while I draw, as I start to get fidgety over time, but again I just have to get used to it.

The quick gestures we did were a good start off to the drawing semester, as were the quick demos on spinal structure and contour drawings. Here's one of the longer drawings we did-

First Post! Life drawing 1

On life drawing 1: My name is Evan Bredendick and I'm a junior at UW-Stout with a major in Multimedia Design. I believe that Life Drawing 1 is important for 2 reasons; one: I get to actually draw in school (it felt weird not having a drawing class... as an art major), and two: I hear it is the most beneficial drawing class to take. I do also happen to like drawing, and drawing people, which could help I suppose...
