Halfway through the semester I'm still glad I decided to take life drawing. I've enjoyed the class as much as I thought I would. My camera charger cable is currently broken, and I had to use an old borrowed one- hopefully I can find a new charger and get better quality pictures up asap.
The topics covered in class have all aided my drawings and I love seeing the progression of my gestures. I'm trying to really focus on my lines recently, experimenting with different techniques and pencil grips all noticeably changes my line quality. I'm looking forward to the rest of the semester to see additional progress with line and form.
I'm not a big fan of working with the manikin anymore. I understand the importance, and it does help a lot, but the actual book instructions to apply the muscles are so difficult to follow it makes things far more complicated than they should be. Not having the other muscles showing that surround the muscle you are about to apply gives no information to how the muscles relate to each other. It would be great if we had some kind of master-model to examine and check our model against while we worked.
